Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - There's Still Time! Get 25% Off All My Savvy Packages!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing, and I for one look forward to it every year! I love the incredible deals on the best of the best pieces for fall! This year was no disappointment!

I found a pair of Sanctuary cuffed, tweed shorts to pair with tights and boots that I love, and a black drop-stitch boyfriend sweater for a relaxed yet classy look.

I was impressed with what I saw in B.P., my daughter found a darling ruffled top in a pink bow print by Lily White and coupled it with a Rubbish cardigan, then completed the look with a layering of necklaces, one of rhinestones and the other a drop bow, very cute indeed!

If you would like to book a shopping package with me, I'd love to hear from you! 25%Off All Savvy Packages, but book now because August 2nd Nordstrom prices and The Savvy Shopper's prices go up to regular price.

Handbag Hunting: Picking The Perfect Handbag

One of the most overlooked and neglected wardrobe pieces is really one of the most important pieces you will own! I'm talking about handbags ladies! Take a minute and give your handbag a good and thorough look, inside and out. Has it seen better days? Is it functional and meeting your needs or is it a frustrating "black hole" that things go in, but rarely come back out?! If it's time for you to consider a new handbag I'm here to help! I'm including some great tips on what to look for, and I am available to schedule a handbag shop with you, so be in touch and let's pick you the perfect handbag.

Rules for Handbag Hunting:

1. Check the weight of the bag when it's empty. Some bags have lots of hardware that can become very heavy to wear, so you need to keep this in mind, because of the added weight of your items you will be carrying.

2. Straps Are Key!!! Some straps do not stay in place well, and others lay on your shoulder like they were made for you, try them on for size until you find a fit you are comfortable in. If you prefer a bag that simply slips over your arm, again, I recommend trying them out for comfort.

3. Look at the overall practicality of the bag for you. Take into consideration the size of the bag and what you normally carry, the opening fixtures (is it a zip open, a snap, a clasp, etc) and the ease or difficulty of getting into the bag. Does the bag have handy compartments so that items are easier to locate and store?

4. Does the bag express your personality? Your handbag, in my opinion is your most important accessory, because it functions as both a portable office and a fashion statement. It's your portable office carrying all your important items such as phone, wallet, checkbook, handheld devices, etc.; but it also functions as a fashion statement for you in how it looks and works with your wardrobe. Never underestimate the power of a great handbag!

5. Finally, I recommend taking any bag you are serious about for a "test drive". When we go and select several bags that we have narrowed it down to, I ask the sales clerk if my client can put her bag inside the bag she is considering, or at least the majority of her items she will carry. This is really important so that we know if things will fit, and how heavy the bag will be, and how convenient the bag will be.

I have some great sources for high quality designer bags at incredibly good prices. Let me know when you are ready to replace your bag!

I Love Your Boots!

So many people, (those I know and yes, those I don't!) have stopped me and said, "I love your boots! I want some like that!"

A pair of really great boots is a "must" for your wardrobe...the key is finding the right boot that fits your total frame and reflects some of your personality. My over-the-knee riding boots have been one of my greatest finds this past fall, getting a lot of miles! These boots are a beautiful quality black leather with an extremely low heel, with the versatility of wearing over the knee, or folded down below the knee. Report (the maker) is based right out of our very own Seattle...that's pretty cool. They are so comfortable I can literally wear them all day with my feet feeling great. Though we are at the end of January, we may still be able to find you your own great pair of boots, but we better hurry! Let me know when you want to schedule a personal shop with me.

Why Hire a Personal Shopper?

How many times have you made clothing purchases that spend more time on your hangers than on you?! Do you purchase clothing/shoes/accessories, but when you try it on at home you say, "What was I thinking?" I can help! For many people, shopping is a difficult and often frustrating experience. My desire is to provide my customers with a highly productive and extremely enjoyable shopping experience; by selecting the most flattering looks for you, and making the most of your shopping budget.

For the past 10 years I have been helping people learn to shop smart & efficient, and to come away with pieces they love and feel great in. I also will help you to "shop your own closet" to discover what you already have to work with, and what things you should say goodbye to. If you or someone you know could benefit from a Personal Shopper, please let them know about my business. I'd love to help~
